Yvette "Vet" Gans, age 83, passed away Wednesday evening, April 19, 2017, at her residence.

No services are planned. Cremation arrangements were under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City.

Vet was born June 11, 1933 to John Robinson and Berthenia Sutherland Robinson in Archer City where she was raised.

She graduated from Archer City High School. She then attended Midwestern State University, the University of Houston and Florida Atlantic University where she earned a B.A. plus.

She and Phil Gans were married in Miami and were married forty-seven years.

Vet lived in Houston, Indonesia, Boca Raton, Florida and retired in 1996 and returned to Archer City.

She lived and raised two children in Indonesia from 1958 until 1963, traveled the world and sailed the Caribbean for a year in 1973.

Vet was a charter member of the Book Club of Archer County, the Culture and Cuisine Colloquy, and the Senior Outreach at the Archer County Library.

Survivors include her husband, Phil Gans of Archer City; daughter, Honali Austin; son, Grant Austin; step-daughters, Florence Gans and Virginia Gans; and grandson, Chase Richardson.
