Wilma Ann Gaffney Thomas, age 77, of Wichita Falls, formerly of Electra, passed away Sunday, April 6, 2025 at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 12, 2025, at First Baptist Church of Electra with Rev. Preston King and Rev. Lester King, Pastors of Bethel Baptist Church in Electra, and Rev. Chester King, Pastor of House of Prayer in Grandfield, officiating.  Interment will follow in Dick Sparks Cemetery in Electra under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Electra.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, April 11, 2025, at Aulds Funeral Home of Electra.

Wilma was born October 19, 1947 in Wichita Falls, Texas to the late William Gaffney and Castel Lacy Gaffney.

She accepted Christ at an early age and was a lifetime member of Bethel Baptist Church of Electra.

Wilma married Clifford Ray Thomas in July of 1971 in Wichita Falls, Texas.  He preceded her in death on June 16, 2001.

Wilma was a deaconess, a homemaker, wife, mother and friend.  Her family meant the world to her and she always found time for each and every one of them.  She never met a stranger and loved any and every one.  Wilma also loved decorating.

Survivors include her brother, Lonnie Gaffney and wife, Brenda of Dallas; one daughter, Carolyn Smith and husband, Wendell of Wichita Falls; one son, Miguel Bishop; one granddaughter, Anisha Pruitt of Converse, Texas; three grandsons, Antonio Pruitt of Wichita Falls, Christian Bishop and Cameron Bishop of San Angelo; seven great-grandchildren and one on the way; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by one sister, Lena Mae Bishop; and one brother, Ronnie Gaffney.
