William Olin "Bill" Perkins, Jr. of Archer City, Texas passed away on January 28, 2019 in Olney, Texas.
Memorial services will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements were under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City.
Bill was born on March 30, 1939 in Megargel, Texas to William Olin and Hazel Marie Tress Perkins.
He married Marqueta Holder Kile on September 16, 1983 in Archer City.
Bill spent most of his life driving gasoline tank trucks for Oil Transport of Wichita Falls and always had the cleanest truck in the fleet. He also drove for several other companies throughout his life. He was always ready to have a good conversation with all he met and had a good story to tell.
Bill is survived by his wife, Marqueta of Archer City, two children, Tonya Ellison and husband, David of Paint Rock, Texas, Larry Perkins and wife, Bonnie of Lexington, Texas, two step- daughters, Sue Cordon and husband, Joe of Elgin, Oklahoma and Laqueta Whitfield and husband, James of Midlothian, Texas; two sisters, Kay East of Archer City, Polly Malone and husband, Kenneth of Wichita Falls, numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews as well as many friends.
He was preceded in death by both mother and father, three brothers, Ernest Perkins, Wesley Perkins, Joseph B. (Doc) Perkins and sisters, Mildred Eustace and Betty Chambles.
The family wishes to express their thanks and warm appreciation to all the care givers at Grace Care and Solaris Hospice of Olney, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Archer City Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 198, Archer City, Texas 76351.
