William Gafford, age 58, lifelong resident of Electra, Texas passed away Thursday, March 2, 2017, at his residence.

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 4, 2017, at Aulds Funeral Home with Carl Wright and Roger Sanford, Pastor of Electra Community Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Electra Memorial Park under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Electra.

The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, March 3, 2017, at Aulds Funeral Home of Electra.

William was born December 16, 1958 in Electra to the late James Thomas Gafford, Sr. and Minnie May Thomas Gafford. He graduated from Electra High School.

He and Sondra "Sandy" Walser were married February 20, 1987 in Wichita Falls, Texas.

William worked in the oilfield. He moved to Amarillo where he worked for Iowa Beef Packers for two years. He then returned to Electra and worked for Payless Cashways in Wichita Falls until it closed.

He enjoyed drag racing and working on cars. William was a member of Electra Community Church.

Survivors include his wife, Sandy of Electra; two daughters, Aundrea Duren and husband, C.R. of Arizona and Diandra Gafford and Cody Rejino of Electra; two sons, Anthony Lynn and wife, Shanique of Edmond, Oklahoma and James Dillon Gafford of Electra; two brothers, Donald Gafford and J.T. Gafford of Electra; two sisters, Celetta Brown and husband, Bobby of Wichita Falls and Sharon Gafford Hamilton of Electra; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jackie and Hazel Walser of Electra; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Sharon and Larry Huffstutler, Pinky and Richard Anzaldua, all of Electra and Judy Edwards of Vernon; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by three sisters, LaVerne Gafford Baynes, Corine Pearce, and Christina Green; and one brother, Dempsey Pearce.
