William "Hippie Dean" Howell

William "Hippie Dean" Howell, age 67, passed away on Monday, February 1, 2021, in Hospice of Wichita Falls.

A Celebration of his life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 9, 2021, at Aulds Funeral Home of Electra with Robert Canant of Andalusia, Alabama, officiating.  Arrangements are under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Electra.

Dean was born July 16, 1953, in Opp, Alabama to the late Bernice and Betty Sue Worley Howell.

Dean attended school in Straughn, Alabama where he graduated High School.  He went on to Seminary College in Colorado.

Dean was many things throughout his life. He was a farmer, a Pastor, a handyman, a carpenter and a rancher. And much more. He loved being a cowboy the most.  He had dreamed of that job since he was a young boy.  He was a Ranch Manager in Clay County. Texas and Wichita County Texas ranches for over 20 years. The Cowboys nick named him "Hippie Dean" because of his long hair.  He liked that nick name and it stuck.

Dean was fun person to be around with all of his stories of childhood in south Alabama.  He could make you laugh on the worst day of your life.  He loved life.

In 2008 he met the love of his life, Susan Rae Honeycutt in Electra Texas. They married in Wing, Alabama on March 28, 2009.

He is survived by his wife, Sue; sons, Jeremy Howell and wife Gail, Tim Howell and wife Shawna all of Wichita Falls, Texas; step-daughter, Leya Dalton of Blanchard, Oklahoma and stepson, Daniel Jacobson and wife Lauren of Iowa Park, Texas; sisters, Brenda Davis husband, David of Wing, Alabama, Donna Jo Kennedy of Slocomb, Alabama, and Gwen Enfinger and husband, Jay of Dothan, Alabama;  Papa Deano was loved by all his grandchildren, Jonah, Josiah, Ravyn, Angel, Bernis, Reagan, James, Julian, Mia, Austin, Kody, Landon, Mataylie, Rylan, Casen, Travis; and his great-grandchildren, Mae, Victor, Mataous, Armanii.
