Archer City
V.L. "Squirt" Jansen, age 95, of Archer City, Texas passed away Friday, January 2, 2015, in Wichita Falls.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 5, 2015, at Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City with Rob Starnes officiating. Interment will follow in Electra Memorial Park under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Sunday, January 4, 2015, at Aulds Funeral Home.
Squirt, also known as "Nan", was born December 26, 1919 in Vandervoort, Arkansas to Landon Ketron Bowery and Addie Louise Cooper Bowery.
She and A.W. "Mutt" Jansen were married July 19, 1940 in Electra. He preceded her in death on September 21, 1980.
Squirt was the co-owner of Hickman & Jansen Well Service in Archer City from 1961 until 1994. She was a member of Archer City Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary for several years.
Survivors include one son, Bill Jansen and wife, Lauren of Wichita Falls; one daughter, Karen Fox of Montrose, Colorado; one sister, Nina Beavers of Marlow, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren, Andi Jansen, Meredith Jansen, David Jansen, Brad Rowe and wife, Charlene, Elizabeth Kozco and husband, Rob, Jennifer Billy and husband, Tim, Doug Fox and wife, Caroline and Keith Fox and wife, Natalie; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Bette Rowe on October 17, 1979 and her son-in-law, Mike Fox on March 28, 1985.
Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons.
