Virginia Martin Dwyer, age 81, of Archer City, Texas was the thread that weaved our lives together, and she kept us in stiches all the while. Virginia was welcomed home on February 18, 2022.

Virginia was born February 11, 1941 in Wichita Falls, Texas to the late Charlie Clifton Martin and Helen Hinsley Martin and was raised in Black Flat, Post, Midland and Archer City, Texas amongst other oilfield town in the central west.

Virginia married Gale N. Dwyer on November 27, 1958 in Archer City, Texas.  He preceded her in death on July 31, 2000.  She lovingly raised three children Becky Dwyer Martinez, Bill Dwyer and Jeff Drake.

Growing up in Archer City, Virginia excelled at bookkeeping and sewing, of which the latter would become her life's work and passion.  Virginia was the most accomplished seamstress.  Certified in interior design, she prepared drapery and upholstery, clothing, wedding and formal dresses for the North Texas community, including branding the sought-after Archer County Veterans Memorial Brand Quilt.  In her later life, she also equipped and accompanied the delivery of wind energy rigs throughout the United States and was renowned for her fashioning of tailored safety covers for the wing tips of propeller blades.  Virginia was also well known for fashioning shirts and suits for touring musical groups who had lost theirs.  There is nobody that compared to her in Texas; she was of incomparable talent.

Virginia has always been surrounded by one of the most loving and caring families and extended families, who continue to touch all of our lives.  Her crowning achievement was being there for her family that she had and creating the family that she knew needed one.  By some estimates, Virginia had more friends than anyone in Texas.  We're pretty sure that count is underestimated.  Universally recognized as a kindand feisty soul.  Virginia expressed her thoughts directly through her words and faith silently through her servant's heart.  We know that the angels that weave the thread of life have been waiting to learn from Virginia.

Virginia is survived by her brother, Jerry Martin and wife, LaMerle; sister, Margie Finnell, son, Jeff Drake and wife, Kathy; son-in-law, Mike Martinez, and daughter-in-law, Becky Dwyer.  She was blessed with grandchildren, Jessey Dwyer and wife, Lindsey, Penny Drake and Rowdy Drake and one great-grandson, Bryson Lee Dwyer.

She was also preceded in death by her sister, Charlotte Lee, brother, Phillip Martin, daughter, Becky Dwyer, son Bill Dwyer.

To welcome Virginia's friends and family from far and wide, a graveside memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 25, 2022, in the Dundee Cemetery on Cemetery Road in Dundee, Texas.  Cremation arrangements were under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City.

In lieu of flowers (don't even, as Virginia was highly allergic) donations may be made to the charity of your choice.

We are better, we are stronger, we are softer, we are kinder. We are more loving for having known and loved you, Virginia!
