Virginia Sue Marsh, age 86, passed away Sunday evening October 2, 2016, in Electra. The following afternoon October 3, 2016, her husband, Carl Eugene "Gene" Marsh, age 89, joined her in heaven. This was a blessing since this was their prayer to go together.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 6, 2016, at the First Baptist Church of Electra with Terry Hickman, Pastor of Bible Baptist Church of Electra, officiating. Interment will follow in Electra Memorial Park under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Electra.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday October 5, 2016, at Aulds Funeral Home of Electra.

Virginia was born December 28, 1929 to the late Otis and Lillie Greening Baldwin in Crowell, Texas. She attended school in Vernon. Gene was born October 31, 1926 to the late John C. Marsh and Fannie Odis Moore Marsh. He attended school in Electra.

Virginia and Gene were married on April 25, 1948 at the Calvary Baptist Church in Vernon, Texas.

Virginia and Gene were lifelong residents of Electra who were devoted parents and grandparents. She was a homemaker and an Avon representative for several years. She enjoyed cooking and making pies and cakes for her family and friends. Gene worked in oil related jobs until he became a butcher for over fifty years. He loved to fish on the river and watch his grandchildren participate in sporting events and teach them to drive.

They were active members of Bible Baptist Church. Gene was a deacon and Sunday school teacher.

Survivors include their daughter, Janie Cook of Electra; their sons, Cloyd Marsh and wife, Betty of Electra, Michael Marsh and wife, Karen of Lubbock, her sisters, Belle Bellar, Margie Hunter, and Martha Ann Lane and husband, Don all of Vernon, and Betty Madden and husband, Paul of Arlington; her brother, Jimmy Ray Baldwin of Vernon; his brother, Johnny Marsh and wife, Mary of Electra; grandchildren, Bradley, Barry and Jody Cook, Chris and Cary Marsh, and Courtney Shukis; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

They were preceded in death by one great-grandson, Jack Cook. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mae Young and Jo Hunter; and four brothers, Carl, David, Bobby, and Billy Fred Baldwin. He was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Kent; and two sisters, Lois Henderson and Laverne Franklin.

The family suggests memorials to Bible Baptist Church, 321 North Wilbarger St., Electra, Texas 76360.
