IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Tharon Laverne
Frost Aulds
August 31, 1922 – August 12, 2021
Tharon Laverne Frost Aulds passed away Thursday evening, August 12, 2021, in Wichita Falls just weeks prior to her 99 th Birthday.
Private services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 16, 2021, in the Chillicothe Cemetery under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City.
Tharon was born August 31, 1922 in Farmers Valley, Texas to Hiram (HG) Frost and Jewel Alice Wade Frost. Later moving to Vernon, Texas where she graduated high school. After graduation, she attended Nurses Training at Parkland Hospital in Dallas, Texas.
On October 21, 1942, she married Austin Elvis Aulds Jr., from Chillicothe, Texas, in Frederick, Oklahoma. WWII left her alone while her husband served in the Pacific during the war. Upon his return they had two sons, Richard Elvis Aulds and Ronald Joe Aulds. Later the Korean War left her alone again, this time with two young boys when her husband was called back to the Army, his job as combat medic deemed essential.
Upon her husband's return, they moved from Vernon to Big Spring, Texas where she finished nursing school at Howard College. Tharon was a nurse for more than thirty years.
While living in Big Spring both her sons graduated high school, then in 1965, Tharon and her husband moved to Las Vegas, Nevada. Tharon had a strong calling from God. While in Las Vegas, Tharon and her husband established a church just a few blocks from the downtown gambling casinos. She also served as a nurse at the Sunrise Hospital where some of her patients were Doris Day, Sammy Davis Jr. and several other movie stars. She was well known throughout that circle and as recently as five years ago was called to return to Las Vegas to pray for Lil Ricky's wife. (Son of Lucy and Desi Arnaz) Her faith in God was absolute!
She is survived by her son, Joe of Archer City; one sister, Doris of Arlington, sisters-in-law, Pat Aulds Garrett of Archer City and Pat Aulds of Iowa Park. While living in Las Vegas, they took in a young girl who they unofficially adopted, Jackie of Corsicana Texas. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Austin Aulds of Dallas, Jennifer of Waxahachie, Nathan of Alaska, Jason of New York, Sean of California, Noel of Houston; numerous great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and so many friends from everywhere.
She was preceded in death by her oldest son, Richard and her husband, Austin, her parents, brothers, Jack Frost, and Douglas Frost.
The family would like to thank Judy Aulds Reams and Sally Foster for all they did for Tharon while she was in Texhoma Christian Care.
