Shirley Waggoner, age 68, of Electra, Texas, took her last breath early Thursday morning, April 27, 2017,surrounded by family at United Regional Hospital in Wichita Falls, Texas.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 1, 2017, at the First Baptist Church of Electra with Rev. Johnny Mims of Wichita Falls officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Electra.
Shirley was born on January 12, 1949 in Bardwell, Texas to Lewis and Leora Lockhart Beasley. Most of her childhood was spent with her family of fifteen siblings sharing time between Waxahachie, Electra, and Bardwell, Texas. She attended school in Electra and Wichita Falls, Texas.
She made Electra her home after moving from Colorado in 1976. She worked for many years in Vernon and Wichita Falls as a Certified Nurse's Aide, however, her work as a mother, grandmother, and friend was her most noted and cherished occupation.
Survivors include: five daughters and two step daughters, Paula Seamster of Altus, Oklahoma, Nicky Charles of Portsmouth, Virginia, Karen Waggoner of Dallas, Texas, Arica Gaines-Brown and husband, Frank Brown of Altus, Oklahoma, Tonia Young of Lawton, Oklahoma, Bridget Maggard of San Antonio, Texas, and Jacqueline Waggoner of Altus, Oklahoma; two sons and one step-son, Paul Waggoner Jr. of Lawton, Oklahoma, Stephen Gaines of Wichita Falls, Texas and Paul Waggoner III of Electra, Texas; two sisters, Ruby Foster of Wichita Falls, Texas, and Opal Beasley of Crockett, Texas; one brother, Robert Beasley and wife Joann of Crockett, Texas; twenty-five grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren and the father of her children, Paul Waggoner of Vernon, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her mother, father, ten brothers, and two sisters.
