She married the love of her life, Carl Virgil Kinsey, on December 27, 1958 in Graham, Texas. He preceded her in death on July 17, 2002.
Shirley lived most of her life in Archer City and also spent meaningful years residing in Chico and Decatur before moving to Archer City and finally to Wichita Falls. Wherever she lived, she quickly turned her house into a welcoming home centered on family and faith.
Shirley was a woman of deep patience, creativity and warmth. She enjoyed the quiet peace of fishing. Over the years, she focused on sewing and crocheting. Her family will forever cherish the beautiful handmade pieces she poured her heart into making for them.
Above all, Shirley’s greatest joy in life was her role as mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to all. She loved her grandchildren fiercely and deeply, always anchoring her large family with her boundless love.
Her legacy of love lives on through her son, Carl Kinsey, Jr. and wife, Karen of Jacksboro; three daughters, Brenda Bishop of Bowie, Sharon Hill and husband, Marvin McDaniel of Jacksboro, and Karen Sims and husband, Jimmy of Wichita Falls; one sister, Sue Bone of Oklahoma; eleven grandchildren; twenty-nine great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Teresa Mae Kinsey in November 1960, and twelve brothers and sisters.
