Shirley Allen, age 74, of Iowa Park, Texas passed away Saturday, April 26, 2025, in Hospice of Wichita Falls.

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 3, 2025, at Faith Baptist Church of Iowa Park with Brother Tim Franks officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Cemetery in Iowa Park, Texas under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Electra.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday, May 2, 2025, at Aulds Funeral Home of Electra.

Shirley was born on December 31, 1950, in Harris Oklahoma to Ida Lee Matthews Hanson Terral, and Melvin Arlie Hanson. She was raised by her mother and daddy, Jessie James Terral. She lived in Iowa Park, Texas most of her life.

Shirley dropped out as a sophomore at Iowa Park High School to marry the love of her life Don Allen on November 5th, 1966. Shortly after being married, they started their family. While raising four children, Shirley went back to school and in 1987 she graduated Midwestern State University with an Associate's Registered Nurse Degree. She worked at Wichita General Hospital while attending school and continued there working up from a Certified Nurses Aid to Clinical Manager of 3 East.  She went on to receive her Certification in Oncology and became the manager for the oncology department.  In 2000, Shirley graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.  In total Shirley worked for Wichita General Hospital, which later became United Regional Health Care, for eighteen years.  In 2004 Shirley had the opportunity to join the Texas Oncology and do the work she loved helping and treating cancer patients.  Shirley was a member of the Oncology Nursing Society since 1992 when she first became certified.  She became the Infusion Supervisor where she continued her nursing passion of caring for hematology and oncology patients.

Shirley's proudest accomplishment in life was becoming a mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband Don Allen, her mother Ida Lee Terral, her daddy Jessie Terral, her father Melvin Hanson, brothers Gene Hanson, David Hanson and Loyd Hanson.

Shirely is survived by her three sons, Ronald Dale Allen and wife, Heather of Evans, Georgia, Tommy James Allen, and wife, Hope of Wichita Falls, and Kenneth Ray Allen of Iowa Park; one daughter, Leona Allen Russell and husband, Paul of Chapman, Kansas; brother, Charles Hanson and wife, Karen of Duncan, Oklahoma; sister, Rita Terral Sampley of Iowa Park; thirteen grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins along with her work family at Texas Oncology including physicians, nurses, and clinic staff of Wichita Falls.
