Sherry "Shorty" Stanford Pippin, age 83, of Archer City, Texas passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2021, at an Olney, Texas hospital.

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 18, 2021 at Aulds Funeral Home with Roger Deerinwater of Archer City officiating. Interment will follow in the Archer City Cemetery under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Sunday, January 17, 2021, at Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City.

Sherry was born November 16, 1937 in Olney to the late J.B. Hall and Willie Anna Wells Hall.

She and Dorwin L. "Dag" Stanford were married January 13, 1965 in Archer City. He preceded her in death on October 18, 1992. She then married P.L. Pippin on November 29, 2000 in Decatur, Texas.  He preceded her in death on December 6, 2013.

Shorty had been employed at the Archer City Hospital where she was a nurse's aide.  She then worked for McWhorter's Grocery Store for many years.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Archer City. Shorty enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, game shows and weekly card games with her sister.

Survivors include her twin sons, Dusty McCord and wife, Sonya and Rusty McCord and wife, Lisa all of Archer City; daughter, Phyllis Shoemaker and husband, Paul of Dean; five step-children, Denise Cato and husband, Travis of Chillicothe, James Pippin and wife, Shirley of Graham, and Brad Pippin and wife, Lynne of Lansing, Kansas, Debby Howell and husband, Eddie and Alton Stanford and wife, Kim all of Oklaunion; sister, Barbara Walker of Olney; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by step-daughter, Vicki Lacy in December 1992.
