Sarah Frances Reed Sharp was born in Knox City, Texas on February 10, 1933 to John Luther and Mary Catherine Stanford Reed. She stepped into her heavenly home on Monday, June 5, 2023.
A Celebration of Sarah's Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 8, 2023, at the First Baptist Church of Electra with her grandsons, Jeremy Hare, and Brady Sharp officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. Thursday until service time at the church. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Electra.
Sarah started school in Bomarton, Texas. When she was nine years old, her parents moved the family to a farm between Goree and Munday, Texas. Sarah graduated from Munday High Schoo in May 1950. She met her wonderful husband, Doyle Wayne Sharp from Rochester, Texas through mutual friends. They were married at her parents' home on October 21, 1950. They were married nearly sixty-nine years when he passed away on July 1, 2019.
Sarah was a member of Bible Baptist Church in Electra, Texas. She loved gospel music. She loved to sew, crochet, read and bake delicious cookies for her grandkids and everyone.
She is survived by one daughter, Lynell Hare of Wichita Falls, Texas, three sons, Steve Sharp and wife, Carlene of Dean, Texas, Derrel Sharp of Electra, Texas and Larry Sharp and wife, Aloha of Humble, Texas; grandchildren, Joel Hare and wife Sheila, Jeremy Hare and wife, Teresa, April Ortiz, Mikayla Williams and husband, Paul Michael, Stephanie Starr and husband, Tim, Brady Sharp and wife, Melissa, Brianna Wolfe and husband, Daniel and Nathan Sharp and wife, Brittni; great-grandchildren, Julia Hare, Jonathan Hare and wife, Chandra, Hannah, Miriam, Eli and Ada Hare, Joseph and Isaiah Soto, Giovannia Ortiz, Abigail and John Williams, Taryn Newman and husband, Aaron, Sarah Whitehead and husband, Dalton, Drake, Holt, and Clara Sharp, August and Eden Wolfe. She is also survived by one brother, George Reed and wife, Nancy of Willis, Texas; three sisters-in-law, Ruby Sharp Hubbard, Sandy Sharp, and Lynne Reed; many nieces and nephews and numerous friends.
Sarah was also preceded in death by her parents, her husband, four sisters, Jewel Thomas (Bruce) Catherine Wilson (Debs) Jenny Yates(Bill) Margie Thomas (Carson); four brothers, Floyd Reed (Rene) Lloyd Reed (Jeanette) Paul Reed, baby brother, Royce Joe Reed and son-in-law, John Hare.
