Ruby was born February 27, 1940 in Davidson, Oklahoma to Malvin L. Burke and Lilie M. Giles Burke.
She and Alfred L. Miller were married July 8, 1970 in Wichita Falls, Texas. He preceded her in death on April 10, 2015.
To her family, she was known as "Little Ruby" because there were many Ruby's and she was the smallest. She loved dolls and collected them all her life. She also loved woodworking crafts. Al even bought her own band saw. Ruby was Al's carpenter as he couldn't even hammer a nail without bending it. She never learned to use a tape measure, however, she used a string and everything always came out perfect. Ruby loved animals especially when they were just babies.
You could nearly always pass by her house and she would be sitting on the front porch and would give you a smile and a friendly wave.
Survivors include one son, Ricky Vicars and wife, Christi of Abilene, Texas; one daughter Kathy Maldonado of Grandfield, Oklahoma; two sisters, Dorothy Eckart and Alta Burke both of Grandfield, Oklahoma; one brother, Joe Burke and wife, Reba of Florida; nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Ruby was also preceded in death by her parents, and three brothers, Nickey, Howard and Randy Burke.
