Ruby D. Brown, age 78, of Archer City, Texas passed away Saturday, March 2, 2013, in the Seven Oaks Nursing Home in Olney.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, 2013, at Aulds Funeral Home with Harvey McQueen officiating. Interment will follow in the Archer City Cemetery under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home.
Ruby was born January 27, 1935 in Eastland County, Texas to William Robert Jarrett and Lois Marie Hill Jarrett.
She and Melvin Brown were married August 7, 1970 in Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on January 10, 2008.
Ruby had been a dispatcher for the Archer County Sheriff's Department for several years. She attended Megargel Baptist Church. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and was an avid Dallas Cowboy Fan. Ruby also enjoyed fishing, going to the casino and especially going to Las Vegas.
Survivors include daughter, Glenda Waggoner and husband, Guy of Newcastle; son, Robert Warren of Fort Worth, Texas; brother, Aaron Jarrett and wife, Charlene of Mabank, Texas; two granddaughters, Tamee Casey of Arlington and Tifanie Taylor and husband, Shown of Keller; and three great-grandchildren, Zachary and Bryce Casey of Arlington, and Alexandria Taylor of Keller.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and one sister, JoAnna Fisk in 2012.
The family suggests memorials to the Rathgeber Hospitality House, 1615 12th Street, Wichita Falls, Texas 76301.
