Rosemary Weisenfels Kohl, 92 passed away on Friday, October 18, 2024 in Fort Worth. A graveside service will be at 1:30 pm on November 16th at Mount Carmel Cemetery located at 6581 Mount Carmel Rd, Electra, TX. She will be buried alongside her parents and grandparents, who were settlers of the Mount Carmel Catholic Community which was established in the early 1900's. During her early years, she was a member of the Mount Carmel Catholic Church which her grandfather helped build in addition to the St. Paul Catholic Church in Electra.

Family visitation will be at St Paul Catholic Church Hall located at 500 N Bailey St, Electra, TX November 16th at 12:30 pm to 1:00 pm.

Rosemary was born on October 9, 1932 in Electra. She grew up on a farm with dairy cows, chickens, and acreage for wheat and cotton crops.

Rosemary attended Electra High School and graduated in 1951. While in High School, she was a Freshman Football Queen Nominee, Sophomore Reporter, in Volleyball 1947-1950, Tiger Tales 1948-1949, Student Council Secretary and Treasurer in 1950, Year Book (Bengal) Editor in 1951, and Senior FFA Sweetheart Nominee. While in high school Rosemary took on the role as a Mother to her younger siblings, Gerald and Loretta, upon the early death of her mother, Mary, on January 23, 1950.

In 1954, she and husband, Alfred, moved to Snyder, and she worked at West Texas State Bank which was located on the square of downtown. During her tenure there she worked different departments including "Bookkeeping", "Teller" and the "Loan Department".  After 44 years of service, she retired in late 1998.

Rosemary was a member of the St. Elizabeth Catholic Church. She volunteered on the Finance Committee for many years as well as participated in the church's annual community Fish Fry and Sausage Festival. She was also a member of the Altar Society and the Men's and Women's Club.

Rosemary was a Snyder resident for 58 years and moved in late December 2012 to Fort Worth.

Rosemary is survived by daughter Pam Slater and husband JD of Fort Worth, son Pat Kohl and wife Lori of San Angelo, Grandchildren Kristin Keith and husband Shaun of Fort Worth, Amanda Murray of Fort Worth, Jordan Kohl of Lubbock, Kolton Kohl and wife Kate of Coppell, Colby Slater and wife Jody of Abilene, Nathan and wife Stacy of Blanchardville, Wisconsin, Cecilia Weisenfels of Arlington, many nieces and nephews and four great grandchildren.

Rosemary is also survived by her extended family and loving caregivers, Liola and Soane Hola, Vani and Charlie Tahi, Muimui and Afi Fonua, Josephine Unga and Jayde Tahi.

Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and John Weisenfels, infant son George Paul Kohl (1958), Husband Alfred A. Kohl (2016), Sister Loretta Corder (2021), Grandson Dylan Slater (2022), Brother Gerald Weisenfels (2024); Albert and Bertha Kohl, Joe and Earline Niedermayer, Carroll and Leighrene Kohl, Johnny Collins & Joe Neil Niedermayer.

In lieu of flowers, family suggest memorials to St Elizabeth Catholic Church, 3005 Avenue A, Snyder, TX 79549.
