Ronnie Wayne Whisnand, age 79, lifelong resident of Electra, Texas passed away on Thursday evening, November 3, 2022, at his residence.

Graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 7, 2022, in Electra Memorial Park with Dennis Hoff, Minister of Church of Christ of Electra, officiating.  Arrangements are under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Electra.

Ronnie was born June 22, 1943 in Electra to the late G.W. Whisnand and Juanita Mary Gilbert Whisnand.

He graduated from Electra High School and later attended Midwestern State University where he earned his Bachelor Degree in Education.  He taught fifth grade in the same classroom at Shive Elementary School in Vernon for twenty years.  Ronnie influenced many students to continue their education.

Ronnie married the love of his life, M. Kay Pearce, on January 2, 1965 in Vernon, Texas.  She preceded him in death on March 24, 2016.

Ronnie was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Electra, and also the Church of Christ in Electra.  He had served as a Boy Scout Leader for several years.  His favorite pastime was working crossword puzzles.

Survivors include two sons, Wayne Whisnand and wife Laurann of Electra, Christopher Whisnand and wife, Beckiey of Wichita Falls; five grandchildren, Ethan Whisnand of Iowa Park, Nathan Whisnand of Wichita Falls, Brian Whisnand of Electra, Zak Whisnand and wife, Brittany of Mansfield and Grace Whisnand of Denton; and one great-grandson, Lane Seeton of Midlothian.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Hospice of Wichita Falls, 4909 Johnson Road, Wichita Falls, Texas 76310.
