Robert Allen Craighead, Sr., age 85,  passed away at his home in Electra, Texas on March 16, 2022.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 21, 2022 at Aulds Funeral Home of Electra with Joe Grace officiating.  Cremation arrangements were under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Electra.

He was born to Lois Marie Scott Craighead and Earl Vernon Craighead on October 30, 1936 in Electra.  He graduated from Harrold High School in 1955.  Robert met and married the love of his life, Shirley Ann Glaze, on February 14, 1957.  They were married for 63 years before her death in 2020.  Together they had three children; Debra, Robert Jr. and Troy.

Robert worked in the oil field his entire life, starting his own company Electra Perforators, Inc. in 1964, where he worked until his retirement. Robert, best known as "Bob" to many, had a passion for the oil field and was a respected pioneer in the perforating and logging sector, working for many of the major oil companies in the area such as, Texaco, Mobil and Waggoner Estate, as well as many individual and small oil companies in the North Texas area.  His company grew and employed several family members, all of whom he was extremely proud of and proud to work beside.

He also owned Robert Craighead Oil Co., where he owned several oil leases in the Wichita County area.

Robert's  other passion was his grandchildren and great grandchildren who referred to him as "Bapa".  He  loved to spend as much time as possible with them, making "babysitting" his favorite pastime.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lois and E.V. Craighead, his wife Shirley and his brother Ray.

Robert is survived by his 3 children, Debra Craighead Malone and husband, Larry of Electra,  Robert Craighead, Jr. and wife, Jennifer of West Hills, California and Troy Craighead and wife, Carmen of Electra;   his grandchildren, Veronica Malone Kimbro of Electra,  Laura Malone Lynn and Lisa Malone Goins of Iowa Park,  Christine Craighead Allen of West Hills, California, Brady Craighead of Austin and Brandy Craighead Roach of St. Mary's, Georgia; seven great-grandchildren, Presley, Hadley, Luke, Daisy, Weston, Mason and Lillian;   two brothers, Dan Craighead of Wichita Falls and Dale Craighead of Vernon; and numerous loving nieces and nephews.
