Robert C. "Bill" Davis, age 77, of Electra, Texas, passed away Sunday, August 25, 2024, in Electra Memorial Hospital.
Graveside services with military honors will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 28, 2024, in Electra Memorial Park, with Dean Nelson of the Southside Church of Christ in Electra, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Electra.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at Aulds Funeral Home of Electra.
Bill was born June 24, 1947, in Olney, Texas to the late Robert Graham Davis and Francis Audrey Wages Davis.
He was a 1965 graduate of Holliday High School. After graduating, Bill served three years in the United States Army where he spent a year overseas helping build roads in Thailand.
Bill married Fran Mahler on August 24, 1968 in Iowa Park, Texas and just celebrated their fifty-sixth anniversary this year.
He was a hard worker who put God, family and his country first. Bill started work for Archer County where he was a Grader Operator for eleven years. He then spent the next thirty-six years working for Wichita County Precinct Four where he retired as the Road and Bridge Foreman.
Bill was very active in the Electra community where he served many years on the city council. He was also involved in the Electra Lions Club where they raised countless amounts of money used to purchase eye glasses for children in the community. He was also a longtime member of the Electra Chamber of Commerce.
He loved hunting and fishing, attending tractor pulls and piddling around in the shop. Bill could fix almost anything. In his early days, Bill was even involved with playday rodeos. Of all the things in his life, however, Bill's two grandsons were two of the most important.
Bill was a longtime member of the Southside Church of Christ in Electra.
Survivors include his wife, Fran Davis of Electra; one daughter, Billie "BJ" Michelsen of Prosper; one sister, Leann Davis and wife, Brenda Kennedy of Electra; his twin grandsons, Colton and Braden Michelsen of Prosper; brother-in-law, Henry Mahler and wife, Stacie of Iowa Park; one nephew, Brady Mahler and wife, Abby of Iowa Park; one niece, Baleigh Payne and husband, Kyle of Iowa Park; and one great-nephew, Wesley Payne.
