Rex Ridenour, age 63, of Archer City, Texas passed away Saturday morning, January 17, 2015, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 19, 2015, in the First Baptist Church of Archer City with Roger Deerinwater officiating. Interment will follow in the Archer City Cemetery under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City.
Mr. Ridenour was born July 7, 1951 in Archer City to the late Marion W. Ridenour and Viola Lula Bitner Ridenour. He was a lifelong resident of Archer City and graduated from Archer City High School in 1969. He then graduated from the University of Texas in Arlington with an Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering.
Since graduating high school, the only employer that Rex ever had was Texas Electric. He had been employed with them for over forty-five years out of the Wichita Falls office. At the time of his death, he was a transmission supervisor of the Wichita Falls and Graham district for Oncor.
He is an active member of the First Baptist Church of Archer City and was a former member of the Archer City Volunteer Fire Dept.
He and Annelia Abbott were married December 14, 1974 in Olney, Texas.
He is survived by his wife; two sons, Kevin Ridenour and his wife Ashley of Wichita Falls, and Matthew Ridenour and Rylea Roderick of Fort Worth, Texas; one sister, Phyllis Kuykendall and her husband Woody of Wichita Falls; his granddaughter, Zerah Ridenour; his mother-in-law, Elizabeth Abbott, and sister-in-law, Teresa Middaugh and her husband W.D., all of Olney; one niece, Stephanie Johnson; and four nephews, Chris Kuykendall, Kyle Kuykendall, Brent Middaugh, and Eric Middaugh.
