Reverend Darwin Stroud, age 82, of San Antonio, Texas, formerly of Electra, Texas, passed away Wednesday, October 7, 2020, at his residence.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 10, 2020, at the First Assembly of God of Electra. Interment will follow in the New Electra Cemetery under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Electra.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Friday, October 9, 2020, at Aulds Funeral Home of Electra.
Darwin was born May 17, 1938 In Electra, Texas to the late Manard "Bob" Stroud and Lilian Beatrice Warton Stroud. He was also preceded in death by his step-mother, Reba Stroud. Darwin attended the University of Texas, Southwestern Bible College and Midwestern State University.
Darwin married the love of his life, Dana Davis, on August 28, 1959 in Lubbock, Texas.
Darwin was a resident of Electra for the second time from 2003 until 2020 where he served as Pastor of the First Assembly of God for thirteen years and retired in 2016. Darwin was a Pastor for over fifty years. He served many churches throughout his life including the First Assembly of God of Electra, and the Pleasant Hills Children's Home. He was a very compassionate and caring man.
Survivors include his wife, of sixty-one years, Dana Stroud of San Antonio; son, Bradley Stroud of San Antonio; daughters, Bredget "Stormy" Stroud Winters of Dallas, and Brandi Stroud of Dallas; three grandchildren, Zachariah Stroud of San Antonio, Amanda Blair of Cibilo and Joshua Stroud of San Antonio; seven great-grandchildren, Dayton Stroud, Gauge Blair, Dillon Stroud, Harlie Stroud, Porter Stroud, Addison Blair, Ryker Stroud; sisters, Cheri Frazier, Kakki Albritton, and Bobi Swope; and brother, Ricky Allred.
