Raymond Wayne Sweeney, age 88, of Electra, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 in Wichita Falls.

Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 24, 2023 in Electra Memorial Park with Ronnie Lawson, Pastor of Thornberry Baptist Church, officiating.  Arrangements are under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Electra.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday, June 23, 2023 at Aulds Funeral Home of Electra.

Wayne was born March 16, 1935 in Denison, Texas to the late Raymond Cletus Sweeney and Ruth Pauline Wheat.

He served is country honorably in the United States Army from 1956-1958.

Throughout his life he was self-employed as a mechanic and his business, Wayne's Automotive, was widely known.

Wayne loved fishing and watching all kinds of wildlife.  He especially loved working on old tractors and combines.

Survivors include one daughter, Carrie Munsey and husband, Lon of Burkburnett; one son, Jerral Sweeney of Keller; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and his longtime friend, Annetta Hilton.

He was also preceded in death by two wives, Jeraldine Raschke Sweeney and Ima Lee James Sweeney; one grandson, Justin Houpt; his daughter-in-law, Jennifer Sweeney; one brother, John William Sweeney; and two sisters, Margie Sraw and Nettie Ebert.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Hospice of Wichita Falls, 4909 Johnson Road, Wichita Falls, Texas 76310, your local church or favorite charity.
