Raymond Clifton Graves, Sr., age 82, of Archer City, Texas, passed away Sunday morning, March 22, 2015, in the Archer City Nursing Center.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 24, 2015, at the First Baptist Church of Archer City with Roger Deerinwater of Archer City, officiating. Interment will follow in the Archer City Cemetery under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City.
Mr. Graves was born in Baylor County, Texas on July 13, 1932 to Robert Fulton Graves, Sr. and Mary Graves.
Raymond grew up in Olney, Texas where he attended high school and worked in the oilfield until 1964 when he moved to Archer City. He had owned and operated Graves Plumbing and Electric in Archer City from 1964 until his retirement in 2005.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church, the Independent Order of Foresters, and was a thirty-nine year member of the Archer City Volunteer Fire Department where he had held numerous offices.
He and Maria Molina were married April 29, 2000 in Olney, Texas.
Survivors include his wife Maria of the home; his daughter, Brenda Crutcher and her husband Sammy, of Wichita Falls, Texas; two sons, R.C. Graves, Jr. and his wife Jan, and Ricky Graves and his wife Melissa, both of Archer City; six grandchildren, Shane Wright and his wife Johnna, of Archer City, Misty Gonzalez and her husband Eli, of Archer County, Khristal Collins and her husband Shane, of Archer City, Alicia Graves of Dallas, Texas, Erin Perry and her husband Braden, of Wichita Falls, and Sarah Graves of Archer City; and six great-grandchildren, Lane Lewis, Coby Wright, Lyla Wright, Brady Gonzalez, Lane Collins, and Lexi Collins.
He is also survived by five stepchildren, Richard Molina of Lubbock, Texas, Christina Krueger of Wimberley, Texas, Joe Louis Molina of Glen Rose, Texas, Alex Molina of Manteca, California, and Joe Molina, Jr. of Austin, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Robert Fulton Graves, Jr., Inez Pemberton, Thelma Brumbley, and Ruby Lee Beasley.
Pallbearers will be Dave Coleman, Gerald Haile, Steve Krueger, Joe Molina, Jr., Braden Perry, and Shane Wright.
