Petie Landrum, age 84, of Electra, Texas passed away Sunday, August 22, 2021, in Electra Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 27, 2021, at First Baptist Church of Electra, with Pastor Preston King of Bethel Baptist Church of Electra officiating.  Interment will follow in Dick Sparks Cemetery in Electra under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Electra.

Petie was born in Waco, Texas on March 28, 1937 to the late Dillard Landrum, Sr. and Williemae Madearest Masters.

He and Freda Fleming were married March 30, 1995 at Bethel Baptist Church in Electra, Texas.

Petie attended school in Waco and was a farm worker throughout his life.  He always loved working for the McAlisters over the years and could always be heard raving about them by his family.  Petie was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Vernon.  The word stranger was not in Petie's vocabulary.  He knew everyone and everyone knew him, just as long as you mentioned Petie, not Dillard.  Storytelling was one of his biggest hobbies, even if some of them were hard to believe.  Petie was a morning fixture at Allsups for many years and could sometimes be found unloading their truck.  As the family said, he was a DIY(Do it Yourself) kind of guy, especially working with his hands.  Petie was a member and long-time deacon of the Bethel Baptist Church in Electra, where he was considered a legend of the church.  His greatest joy was his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Freda Landrum of Electra; two daughters, Shirley Knox of Vernon, Renna Simpson of Dallas; numerous children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and great-great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Willie B. Landrum and wife, Earline of Los Angeles, California; several nieces, nephews and family members.

He was also preceded in death by one sister, Lucille Mollett, and several children and grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to the Electra Senior Citizen's Center, 503 West Michigan Ave., Electra, Texas 76360.
