Peggy Staley Moore, age 83, of Electra, Texas, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Friday evening, January 9, 2026, in Electra Healthcare Center.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at Aulds Funeral Home of Electra with Jon Curry, Pastor of Grace Community Church in Archer City, officiating. Interment will follow in Electra Memorial Park under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Electra.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at Aulds Funeral Home of Electra.

Peggy was born July 29, 1942 to the late Arthur Lester Staley and Eva Jones Staley.

She and Hubert Edward Moore married on May 23, 1998 in Electra, Texas. He preceded her in death on August 18, 2010.

Peggy was a private housekeeper throughout her life. She loved crocheting, especially making baby blankets for her family and friends. Peggy also enjoyed reading and going to garage sales. She looked forward to her weekly Friday night dates to the Whistle Stop Café in Electra with Hubert and their granddaughter, Breanne, and grandson, Tyler. Family was extremely important to her and she always wanted to have her nieces and nephews over on the weekends any chance she could.

She loved the Lord and prayed regularly.

Survivors include her granddaughter and her husband who were her caregivers for many years, Breanne and Xavier Waggoner of Electra; grandson, Tyler Staley and wife, Tori of Wichita Falls; granddaughter, Kara Staley of Electra; and three great-grandchildren, Malaki and Brayli Waggoner, and Leddy Staley. Peggy also had many “adopted” children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews who she considered her very own.

She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Brenda Davis and Patsy Davis; and three brothers, Ferrell Staley, Billy Joe Staley and Arthur Staley.

The family wishes to extend their sincerest gratitude to the staff of Electra Healthcare Center and Solaris Hospice for the loving care they provided to Peggy.
