Paula was born June 30, 1945 in Electra, Texas to the late Fritz Henry Begeman and Clara Ruth Horn Begeman as the youngest of five children.
Paula grew up in Electra where she attended school. She and Alton Rodgers married November 30, 1962 in Electra, Texas. They spent time in Denton, Texas and Franklin, New Jersey where Alton was stationed in the National Guard. The family returned to Electra in 1973 and established permanent residency.
Paula worked for Electra Memorial Hospital for thirty-five years until her retirement in 2012. She served on the Hospital Board for eight years, just recently resigning in September 2022. Paula also served on the Hospital Auxiliary. She was very proud of what the Electra Hospital District has become today. Many of the friends she made there throughout the years she considered family. Her wishes were to spend her final days there so she could be close to the people and place she so dearly loved.
