Paul J. Schenk, age 94, of Windthorst, Texas passed away Friday, November 5, 2021, in Wichita Falls.
Rosary and Vigil service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 8, 2021, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Windthorst. Funeral Mass will be celebrated immediately following with Rev. Michael Moloney, Pastor of St. Mary's and St. Boniface Catholic Church, officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home.
Paul was born March 4, 1927 in Scotland, Texas to the late Paul Henry Schenk and Mary Theresa Kliegel Schenk. He was a graduate of Scotland High School.
During World War II, Paul honorably served his country in the United States Navy from 1944 until 1947. He earned the Asiatic-Pacific, American Area and the World War II Victory Medal. After his tour of duty, he returned to Scotland.
He married Rosalie Lerner on August 1, 1956 in Windthorst. In 1966, they moved to Windthorst where he was the owner and operator of his dairy until his retirement.
Paul was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. He also was a member of the Knights of Columbus # 1824 and the V.F. W. # 2676 for seventy-three years.
Paul loved baseball, especially the Texas Rangers, gardening, fishing and his animals.
Survivors include his wife, Rosalie of Windthorst; four sons, Tim Schenk and wife, Cyndy, Barry Schenk all of Scotland, Melvin Schenk and Eric Schenk, both of Windthorst; five daughters, Elaine Berend and husband, Lenny of Windthorst, Barbara Huff and husband, John of Wichita Falls, Irene Westlake and husband, Rich of Austin, Gail Gilmore and husband, Bob of Lakeside City, and Tanya Rueschenberg and husband, Mike of Windthorst; three sisters, Pauline Hoff of Windthorst, Shirley Anderle of Lindsay and Kate Syrus and husband, Garry of Windthorst; two brothers, Frank Schenk and Grady Schenk and wife, Cherry all of Scotland; sister-in-law, Bertha Mae Schenk of Scotland; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren and two on the way.
He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Bill, Tuff and Dillard Schenk.
