Patricia Anne Morbitzer Koetter, age 59, of Windthorst, Texas passed away Thursday evening, March 19, 2015 at a Wichita Falls, Texas hospital.
A Rosary and Vigil Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 22, 2015, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Windthorst, Texas. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 23, 2015 at St. Mary's with Rev. Michael Moloney, FSO, Pastor of St. Mary's and Deacon Don Brown, Deacon of St. Mary's, officiating. A private family inurnment service will follow at a later date in St. Mary's Cemetery in Windthorst under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City, Texas.
Patti was born July 4, 1955 in Fort Worth, Texas to Clyde Joseph Morbitzer, Sr. and Mary Joan Burns Morbitzer. She was raised in Fort Worth where she graduated from High School and then graduated from Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education with a Minor in Music. She then earned her Master's Degree in Computer Education from Texas Wesleyan University in Fort Worth in 1993. She taught school in Windthorst, Henrietta, and Wichita Falls until 1997 when she was employed as a case worker and investigator by the Texas Department of Health and Human Services.
She and Vincent Koetter were married January 10, 1976 in Fort Worth.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church where she was a very active in the Music Ministry, served as Cantor, and was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America. She was a former School Board Member of the Windthorst ISD.
She also sang with the MSU Chorale Choir.
She is survived by her husband, Vincent of the home; 2 sons, Chris Koetter and his wife Sarah of Windthorst, and 2nd Lt. Stephen Koetter and his wife Martika, of College Station, Texas; 2 daughters, Rebecca Tucker and husband Richard, of Irving, Texas, and Paula Koetter of Fort Worth; her parents, Clyde and Mary Morbitzer of Scotland, Texas; 3 sisters, Nora Kinsey, Mary Pastusek, and Claudia Wilson, all of Fort Worth; 2 brothers, Joe and Mark Morbitzer, both also of Fort Worth; and 4 grandchildren, Luke, Noah, Ava, and Adelaide.
She was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Ed Pastusek.
Those serving as Pallbearers will be Mark Morbitzer, David McCann, Charles McCann, Greg Koetter, Michael Koetter, and Jonathan Pastusek.
The family suggests memorials to the Windthorst Volunteer Fire Dept., P.O. Box 162, Windthorst, Texas 76389.
