Pat Klaras Aulds Garrett, age 86, passed away on Thursday evening, June 18, 2026, in Hospice of Wichita Falls surrounded by her family.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 21, 2026, at Aulds Funeral Home Chapel, 307 South Center Street, Archer City, Texas 76351, with Jon Curry, Pastor of Grace Community Church of Archer City and Mark Garrett of Miller Grove, Texas, officiating. Interment will follow in the Archer City Cemetery under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City.
Pat was born September 20, 1939 in Jennings, Louisiana to the late John George Klaras and Gloria Babette Cook Klaras. She graduated from North Dallas High School in 1958.
She married R. Kenneth Aulds on February 15, 1958. He preceded her in death on June 17, 1975. She then married David M. Garrett on November 12, 1983. He preceded her in death on July 6, 2011.
Pat and Kenneth moved to Archer City in 1964 where they owned and operated Aulds Funeral Home from 1964 until his death in 1975. She continued to serve the community until 1985 when their son, J. Michael Aulds purchased the funeral home.
Pat was a former member of First United Methodist Church of Archer City where she taught Sunday school for nine years and was the Director of Methodist Youth Fellowship. Pat was very active in her children’s life serving as room mother for twelve years, and also Blue Bird and Camp Fire Leader. Pat was a former member of the Archer City Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, Director of the Chamber of Commerce, Archer County Cancer Crusade Chairman and the Delphian Club.
After her marriage to David, she moved to Point, Texas where she worked on the family farm, learning how to can vegetables, drive a tractor and pull a calf. Pat was a former member of County Line Baptist Church where she served as treasurer of the Building Fund. After David’s passing, she returned to Archer City in 2014. Pat was a member of Grace Community Church of Archer City.
Survivors include two daughters, Debbie Aulds O’Quinn and husband, Jeff of Fort Worth and Karen Aulds of Archer City; four sons, John Michael Aulds of Archer City, Chris Aulds and wife, Terry of Dallas, Dave Garrett and wife, Janie of Coppell and Bill Garrett and wife, Kay of Point, Texas; two sisters, Barbara McPhaill of Montgomery, Texas and Nitsa Klaras of Archer City; two sisters-in-law, Glynda Klaras of Deer Park, Texas and Pat Aulds of Iowa Park; thirteen grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.
She was also preceded in death by her brother, Tommy Klaras; daughter-in-law, Lou Anne “Pebbles” Aulds; grandson, John Michael Aulds, Jr.; and numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons and great-grandsons Trevor Aulds, Dylan Fisher, Craig Hons, Nolan Hons, Chris Walker, Trace Walker, Rhett Walker and Lane Walker.
Pat’s family wishes to thank the wonderful people who brought so much love and joy to her throughout her entire lifetime.
