Norma Jean Williams Young, age 81, of Wichita Falls, passed away Tuesday, October 19, 2021 in Wichita Falls.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 22, 2021, at Aulds Funeral Home of Electra, with Starkovich Forster, Chaplain of Hospice of Wichita Falls, officiating.  Interment will follow in Electra Memorial Park under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Electra.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at Aulds Funeral Home.

Norma was born June 2, 1940 in Electra, Texas to the late Douglas Harmon Williams and Frances Marie Moore Williams.  She graduated from Electra High School in 1958.

She lived in Iowa Park for thirty years where she was a member of the First Baptist Church and Optimist Club and participated in the Christmas Tour of Homes before moving to Wichita Falls in 1992.  For the last four years, Norma was a resident of Brookdale Sikes Lake and was an instant favorite among the staff and tried to take care of the other residents.

Norma had worked for the City of Iowa Park and also was an Independent Mary Kay Consultant for twenty plus years until her retirement.  She was a third generation member of the VFW-Ladies Auxiliary.

Norma loved to be in the company of others and enjoyed laughter.  She was a light hearted, fun loving and outgoing woman who never forgot anyone she met.  Norma was a loyal friend and caretaker especially to the elderly.  She enjoyed traveling to places such as Germany, Hawaii, Paris and Rome.  She was known for her eclectic collectables, including but not limited to multiple corvettes( including her grandsons favorite 1977 orange corvette), a barber chair, a telephone booth and a Dr. Pepper vending machine.

Norma always enjoyed taking her grandkids and friends to the Electra Homecoming weekend complete with red and black mums, garters, and multiple trips to the Dairy Queen.  Norma was never on time and no one expected her to be; she was the ultimate night owl.

Survivors include her daughter, Shannon Riley and husband, Randy of Wichita Falls; granddaughter, Farrah Stahler and husband, Robert of Wichita Falls; grandson, Spencer Riley and wife, Maggie of Wichita Falls; three great-grandchildren, Benjamin Stahler, Stevie Riley and Sloan Stahler, all of Wichita Falls; brother, Doug Williams Jr. of Iowa Park; nephew, Cary Williams and wife, Teressa of Wichita Falls; and great-nephew, Colin Williams of Wichita Falls.

The family wants to send their sincerest thanks to the staff of Brookdale Sikes Lake and Hospice of Wichita Falls.

The family suggests memorials to Hospice of Wichita Falls, 4909 Johnson Rd., Wichita Falls, Texas 76310.
