Nettie "Nell" Law Mengwasser, 89, was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on March 23, 2024, in Electra, Texas. Born on March 17, 1935, in Atlanta, Texas, Nettie was a beloved mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.

The family will receive friends for a Rosary & Visitation at 6:00 p.m. Monday, April 1, 2024 at St Paul Catholic Church in Electra. A Funeral Mass will follow at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at St. Paul Catholic Church, with Rev. Joseph Moreno officiating, where we will celebrate Nettie's life and faith. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Electra.

Nettie attended high school in Smackover, Arkansas. Following her high school graduation, Nettie attended technical school for a brief period. The Lord then led Nettie to Electra, Texas. Nettie's career was marked by dedicated service as a secretary for Mobil Oil where she fulfilled many roles. She would later work for Wyatt Tank Company and Woods Nursing Home in Electra, Texas. Her commitment to service extended beyond her work life. She generously volunteered her time to Meals on Wheels and the Senior Citizens Center in Electra, earning respect and admiration for her leadership as President of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Electra Hospital, and for her active membership in the Ladies Altar Society of St Paul Catholic Church.

During her time at Mobil Oil, Nettie met the love of her life Clarence (Bubby) who at the time worked for the post office. The couple married September 22, 1955 at Mt Carmel Church in Punkin Center, Texas. The two went on to have seven children and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who she loved dearly. Nettie had a heart for animals and Siamese cats, especially her Siamese Piggy and American Eskimo Ms. Spirit.

Her heart was ever close to her faith and church, St Paul Catholic Church, where she also expressed her innate musical gift. Nettie's talent at the piano, a joy discovered at the mere age of five, blessed many as she played not only for St Paul's but many other churches alongside fellow musicians and close friends Mary Helzlsouer (violin) and Genevieve Reis (organ).

Nettie is lovingly remembered by her children: Mary Nell, Melinda, Tony, Joe and wife Carolyn, Tim, Precia, and Theresa and husband Frank. Her legacy further lives on through her cherished grandchildren, Garland, Jason, Caroline, Angelica, Kimberly, Sandy, Allison, Caitlyn, & Cory; great-grandchildren, Allie, Kyra, Jaylee, Calvin, Angel, Elias, Messiah, Cataleya, Zaylee, Caleb, Ethan, Amber, Nathan, Zoey, Christian, Landon, Ty, and Joe; nieces, Sherry, Sandra, Janis, & Robbie; sister-in-law Lucia A Rosco (Law); and special friends Norma Nix, Sue Wyatt, Mary Jane Clark, Sandy Thomas, and Sharon Fletcher. Preceding her in eternal rest are her husband, Clarence A (Bubby) Mengwasser; her parents, Newell & Nettie Law and Joseph R & Irene (Bowen) Law; her siblings Charlie Joe Law, Thenia Mae Smith, Daniel Harrold Law, Billy R (Bo) Law, & Margaret Ann Law; and her grandchildren Courtney Rainey, Heather Boren, and Courtney Mengwasser.

Pallbearers will be Garland Taylor, Jason Bannister, Caleb Boren, Ethan Boren, Angel Escalante, Calvin Escalante, and Scott Dulaney.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be directed to St Paul Catholic Church, 600 Davy Dr., Burkburnett, Texas 76354, or CompleteTx Hospice and Palliative Care, 1111 Holliday St., Wichita Falls, Texas 76301.
