Myrtle Berryman Bacon, age 88, of Archer City, Texas passed away Friday, July 8, 2016, in Wichita Falls.

Graveside service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, July 9, 2016, in the Archer City Cemetery with Roger Deerinwater officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City.

Myrtle was born February 18, 1928 in Archer County, Texas to Boss Bryan Berryman and Florence Thomas Berryman. She was a graduate of Archer City High School.

She and Wayne N. Bacon were married October 13, 1951 in Wichita, Kansas. He preceded her in death on October 27, 1999.

Myrtle was a bookkeeper throughout most of her life. She had been employed for three years by Murphy Bros Chevrolet. Then she was an assistant to the sales parts manager for ten years at Air Tractor in Olney, Texas until her retirement in December 1988.

Myrtle was a member of the First Baptist Church since April 13, 1947 where she served as president for WMU one year. She was also a camp fire leader for one year.

Survivors include son, Jimmy Wayne Bacon of Archer City; daughter, Janet D. Fletcher of Wichita Falls, two brothers, Buddy Berryman of Burkburnett and Jerry Berryman of Holliday; four grandchildren, Jason Gillispie and wife, Cecy, Jimmy Bacon II, Jessica Fletcher, and Ryan Fletcher; and three great-grandchildren, Kyle, Kaitlyn and Kole.

She was also preceded in death by four brothers, Pete, Claude, Robert, and A.B. Berryman; and four sisters, Inez Huffman, Eloise Victory, Irene Baker, and Mae Littell.
