Mildred M. Scheffe Koetter, age 87, of Windthorst, Texas passed away Thursday, February 12, 2015, at her residence.
A vigil service and rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday, February 13, 2015, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Windthorst. Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 14, 2015, at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Rev. Michael Moloney, O.F.S. Parochial Administrator of St. Mary's and St. Boniface Catholic Church, officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home.
Mildred was born January 10, 1928 in Windthorst to Henry L. Scheffe and Katherine Zihlman Scheffe.
She and Oliver Koetter were married April 6, 1948 in Windthorst. He preceded her in death on March 30, 2007.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Christian Mother's Society, Windthorst Catholic Daughters, Windthorst VFW, and Windthorst Senior Citizens.
Survivors include two daughters, Wanda Teichman and husband, Kenneth of Scotland, and Edith West and husband, James of Windthorst; six sons, Stanley Koetter of Windthorst, David Koetter and wife, Judy of Wichita Falls, Roy Koetter and wife, Julie of Windthorst, Gilbert Koetter and wife, Staci of Wichita Falls, Russel Koetter and wife, Judy of Windthorst, and Phillip Koetter and wife, Linda of Virginia Beach, Virginia; three brothers, Clyde Scheffe and wife, Nellie of Marienthal, Kansas, Bernard and wife, Pat Scheffe of Windthorst and Bobby Scheffe and wife, Pat of Windthorst; three sisters, Gladys Wolf of Windthorst, Marie Veitenheimer of Windthorst, and Cathy Carlton and husband Terry of Vernon; sisters-in-law, Francie Scheffe of Amarillo, and Evelyn Scheffe of Iowa Park; twenty-eight grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by brothers, Earl and Hank Scheffe.
