Mildred Berend Pennartz, age 98, of Windthorst, Texas passed away Friday morning, January 14, 2022 in Wichita Falls.

Vigil service and rosary will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 17, 2022 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Windthorst with Rev. Michael Moloney, Pastor of St. Mary's and St. Boniface Catholic Church, officiating.  Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City.

Mildred was born January 1, 1924 in Windthorst to the late Anton Berend and Eleanor Wachsman Berend.

Mildred graduated from Windthorst High School and worked on the family farm.

She married the love of her life, Henry Joseph Pennartz, on July 1, 1946 in Windthorst.  He preceded her in death on June 19, 2017.

Mildred was a lifetime member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.  She also was a member of the Christian Mother's Society.

Survivors include four daughters, Thelma Vieth and husband, Bobby of Wichita Falls, Anna Marie Pennartz and husband Robert Smith of Wichita Falls, Teresa Morey of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Neysa Colvin  of Wichita Falls; five sons, David Pennartz of Loving, Allen and wife, Clydene of Wichita Falls, Ralph Pennartz and wife, Nancy of Wichita Falls, Joseph Pennartz and wife, Julie of Windthorst, and Roy Pennartz of Windthorst; four brothers, Harold Berend of Maranatha, Kansas, James Berend of Windthorst, Anton Berend of Enid, Oklahoma, and Martin Berend and wife, Florene of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; two sisters, Margaret Schroeder of Windthorst and Eleanor Pechacek of Las Vegas, Nevada; sister-in-law, Bernadine Berend; twenty-six grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by three sons, Clyde, Bruce and Troy; one daughter, Pearl Middleton; three brothers, Manuel, Emery and Jerome Berend; and one sister, Alma Pennartz.
