Mauro Ramos Ortiz, age 49, of Scotland, Texas passed away May 17, 2015 as a result of an oilfield accident outside of Quanah, Texas.
A vigil service and rosary was held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 21, 2015 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Deacon Lauro Huerta officiating. Interment will be in Mexico at a later date. Arrangements were under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City.
Mauro was born January 28, 1966 in Monclova Coahuila, Mexico to Thomas Ramos and Petra Ortiz.
Mauro lived in Scotland since 1987 where he was employed as a dairy hand and construction worker until 2009 when he became employed by Steinberger Drilling Co. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Windthorst.
Survivors include his wife, Gabriela Solis Guevara of Mexico; two sons, Angel Ramos Parroquin and wife, Hyesung of Ft. Worth, and Tony Ramos of Ft Worth; mother, Petra Ortiz of Mexico; two grandmother, Mia and Elsie; four brothers, Felipe, Genaro, Fidel, and Pedro; two sisters, Leonarda and Maria.
