Matthew Lynn "Matt" Jackson, age 62, of Scotland, Texas passed away December 18, 2023 in Grapevine, Texas after a courageous battle against cancer.

Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 6, 2024, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Scotland Texas with Reverend Michael Moloney, OFS, Pastor of St. Mary's and St. Boniface Catholic Church, officiating. Interment will be in St. Boniface Cemetery under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City. A Celebration of Matt's life will follow at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Scotland.

Matt was born January 15, 1961 in Wichita Falls to the late Carl Wayne Jackson and Margareth Mae Schenk Jackson.

He and his twin brother, Mark, went to Archer City School along with their siblings where they graduated in 1979 and enjoyed the many friends and classmates in the community.  It was well known that Matt loved his family along with his kinfolk that came from a large family.  After graduation, he became a journeyman electrician in construction and later moved to the DFW area and eventually went to work for American Airlines in 1984 as an electrician in facilities maintenance. He worked there for over thirty years and retired and moved back to his roots in Scotland Texas to be with friends and family.

Matt was really enjoying his retirement in Scotland with his old friends working on old trucks and cars trying to get anything he could back to running again, fixing up his property and enjoying the simple country life. Mark would come in from Ft. Worth and stay for a few days where they just loved each other's company, as twins do, soulmates for life, fishing, RVing, and taking care of the deer on the family property near Seymour. Matt will never be forgotten, his contagious smile and joyous personality will be a special memory to cherish.

Matt was proceeded in death by his parents, Carl Wayne and Margie Jackson.

He is survived by three brothers and two sisters: Chuck Jackson and wife, Patsy of Wichita Falls, Donna Stewart of Wichita Falls, Clay Jackson and wife, Pam of Wichita Falls, Dianna Duncan and husband, Jeff of Robson Ranch, Texas, and his identical twin brother, Mark Jackson and wife, Kathy of North Richland Hills, Texas. He also leaves his one daughter, Alyssa Hunter and husband, Dylon of Chattanooga, Tennessee; one son, Blake Jackson and wife, Annie of Pascagoula, Mississippi; one granddaughter, Paisley; one grandson, Beck; and many nieces and nephews from his large family.
