Mary was born July 31, 1916 to Joe and Minnie Wood Campbell in Lindale, Texas.
She married the love of her life, Paul L. Schroeder in 1940. He preceded her in death on August 27, 1977.
She and husband, Paul at some point started a photography business as a sideline, taking pictures of weddings, dozens of them in the Windthorst and Scotland area while both of them had full time jobs. These were wedding pictures of family and non-family. She was so loved by so many people of Windthorst-Scotland that she was known by everyone as "Aunt Mary," even those who were not related.
After the loss of her husband, Paul, she retired from the photography business, but continued to work for Piggly Wiggly grocery, working most of that time as a grocery checker. Following her retirement from Piggly Wiggly, she worked doing grocery store food demos for 17 years, working many different stores scattered over the Ft. Worth, Hurst, and Euless-Bedford area. She did this work up until she was past 90 years of age and loved every minute of it, meeting people which was a real joy to her. Mary had a very long and happy life.
Mary loved dancing, attended many, many dances that were held in the old Knights of Columbus Hall in Windthorst. Following the death of her husband Paul, after a few years she found a dancing partner and they danced at many of the clubs in Hurst and Ft. Worth. It was truly a passion of hers. Mary was an excellent cook. There was countless family gatherings in which she was always asked to bring her "specialty" covered dishes.
She leaves one child, James Schroeder of Grand Prairie, Texas, three grand-children, William Paul Schroeder of Irving, Texas, Terry Lynn Howard and husband Terry Lee of Union City, Tennessee, and Tracy Lee Allen and husband Rusty of Spring, Texas; two great-grandchildren, Tara Matheny and husband Josh of Dyersburg, Tennessee and T.J.
