Mary Duke Kuykendall, age 84, of Archer City, Texas passed away Saturday, April 8, 2017, in Vista Living of Archer City.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 12, 2017, in Cleveland Memorial Park in Cleveland, Texas under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City.
Mary was born February 23, 1933 in Grosback, Texas to the late Plenty Lafayette Duke and Viola Murphy Duke.
She and Bud Kuykendall were married February 3, 1993 in Pernitas Point, Texas.
Mary was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and attended the Baptist Church. She was a very sweet and caring person who loved her family.
Mary served many meals at the Civic Center in Pernitas Point which was later named the Bud and Mary Kuykendall Center where many fundraisers are held.
Survivors include her husband, Carl E. "Bud" Kuykendall of Von Ormy; one son, John Thomas Bednorz and wife, Shirley of Freer, Texas; one daughter, Patricia Ann Byrom and husband, Ronald of Von Ormy; one brother, Jack Duke and wife, Ann of Pasadena; three sisters, Jeanette Goodman of Baytown, Bertie Jo Kinsey of Archer City, and Brenda Dugas and husband, Paul of Lafayette, Louisiana; four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Thomas Arthur Bednorz; two brothers, Billy Wayne Duke and Doug Mitchell; four sisters, Ruby Kuykendall, Thelma Mercer, Bessie Lee and Wilma Graham.
