Marvin Ray Willis, age 96, of Mansfield, Texas, formerly of Electra, Texas, passed away Friday afternoon, June 10, 2022, in Mansfield.
Family visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at the First United Methodist Church of Electra. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Bob Lee officiating. Interment will follow in Electra Memorial Park under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Electra.
Marvin was born November 17, 1925 in Thrift, Texas to the late James Franklin Willis and Mary Roxie Dorman Willis.
Marvin graduated from Electra High School and then attended Hardin College in Wichita Falls. During World War II, he honorably served his country from January 1944 until May 1946 in the United States Army where he was a Corporal.
He and Billie Jean Weatherall were married June 14, 1958, in Petrolia, Texas.
Marvin was employed by the Texaco Pipeline for forty years until his retirement in 1991. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Electra, and the local chapter of AARP. Marvin enjoyed square dancing and traveling.
Survivors include his wife, Billie Willis of Mansfield; son, Dr. John Willis of Mansfield; daughter, Debbie Willis of Fort Worth; two nieces, Mary Jean Nies and husband, George of Amarillo and Vesta Gail Fisher and husband, Terry of Wichita Falls; and numerous great-nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by sister, Mildred Devenport and nephew, Jim Devenport.
The family suggests memorials to the First United Methodist Church, 1107 South Bailey St, Electra, Texas 76360.
