Marvin Edward Henry, age 77, of Archer City, Texas passed away Saturday morning, January 12, 2019, at Hospice of Wichita Falls.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, January 19, 2019, at the Archer County Activity Building, located at 512 W. Cottonwood in Archer City with Dan Reddick, Minister of the Archer City Church of Christ, officiating.  The family will be receiving friends at the Activity Building from 1:00 pm until service time.  Interment will follow in the Archer City Cemetery under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City.

Marvin was born January 5, 1942 in Hardeman County to the late Benjamin
Edward "Boots" Henry and Florence Allene Houk Henry.  After graduation from High School in Plainview, Texas, he attended West Texas State University where he graduated in 1964 with a Bachelor's Degree in Animal Husbandry.  He then attended Oklahoma State University where he was pursuing his Master's Degree until he was employed by the State of Texas as an assistant agricultural extension agent of Van Zandt County, Texas.  In 1969, he transferred to Archer County as the Agricultural Extension Agent where he worked until his retirement in 1997.

Marvin served in various roles for many County activities and enjoyed most those involving youth and livestock.   He was a strong supporter of high school athletics and announced many football games over the years.  As a member of the Archer City Church of Christ, he frequently served as song leader.  Marvin's hobbies included golf and competitive shooting.  However, he was home in the outdoors and often could be found fishing or hunting for almost anything Archer County had to offer.

Survivors include his wife, Theresa; three sons, Ben and his wife Susan of Hurst, Texas, along with their children, Jared, Caleb, and Jacey; Beau and his wife Janet of Waxahachie, Texas along with their children, Braden, Brynn, and Brooke; and Todd and his wife Sarah of Dallas, Texas along with their children Hannah, Willa, and Cora;  his sister, Betty Campbell of Carrollton, two brothers, Roy Henry of Livingston, Texas, and Melvin Henry of Kilgore, Texas.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Bill Crow, Carlton Deen, Pat Martin, Jr., Pat Martin, III, Mitch McLemore, and Pat Thomason.
