Marthabelle "Martie" James, age 93, of Archer City passed away Tuesday, August 4, 2015, in the Archer Nursing Center.

Graveside services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, August 6, 2015, in the Archer City Cemetery with Roger Deerinwater officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home.

Martie was born December 5, 1921 in Arkansas City, Kansas to Everett James and Cleo Belle Corkins James.

She graduated in 1939 in Arkansas City, Kansas. She moved to Kansas City, Kansas and was a Unit Clerk at University of Kansas Medical Center. She then moved to Wichita Falls where she worked as a Unit Clerk at the Bethania Hospital. Martie retired in 1985 and moved to Archer City to take care of her parents. Cleo and Elmer "Skinny" Jones.

Martie was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 198 Ladies Auxiliary. She also was a lifetime member of the Eastern Star Victory Chapter North 151 in Arkansas City, Kansas.

Survivors include cousins who live out of state and many close friends who she called her family.
