Martha Streit, age 93, of Punkin Center, Texas passed away Saturday, November 15, 2014, in Electra Memorial Hospital.

Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 22, 2014, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Clara with Rev. Sam Wirgau officiating. Interment will follow in Wilbarger Memorial Cemetery in Vernon under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Electra.

The family will receive friends on Friday, November 21, 2014, from 7:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Aulds Funeral Home of Electra.

Martha was born October 12, 1921 in Thrift, Texas to the late Prior Lee Ribble and Dare Robinson Ribble.

She married the love of her life, George O. Streit on December 1, 1940 in Vernon. He preceded her in death on October 15, 2007.

Martha graduated from Vernon High School, attended Texas Women's University and Midwestern State University where she earned her Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Education. She was a teacher for the Electra I.S.D. for twenty-two years and received an award for In Appreciation to a Lovely Teacher in 1961-1962 and 1966.

She was a former resident of Thrift, Denton and Vernon before moving to Punkin Center in 1941. Martha was an active member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Clara.

Survivors include one son, George Lee Streit and wife, Anita of Electra; two daughters, Judy Reck of Arlington, and Diane Lippe and husband, Larry of Sequin; one sister, Margie Streit of Wichita Falls; in-laws, Robert Streit of San Antonio, Agnes Miller of Vernon, Ruth Capps of Vernon, and Dorothy Wisdom of Thalia; eight grandchildren, David Reck and wife, Dede, Todd Reck and wife, Shawn all of Coppell, Brian Reck and wife, Gretchen of McKinney, Leah Lippe Linnet and husband, John of Austin, Kristen Lippe Latham and husband, Michael of Dallas, Karen Lippe of Houston; Angela Streit Morgan of Wichita Falls, Kyle Streit and wife, Bobbie of Electra; and eleven great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by son-in-law, Charles Reck; and grand son-in-law, Thomas Morgan and numerous in-laws.

The family suggests memorials to the Trinity Lutheran Church of Clara.
