Martha Farris, age 72, of Petrolia, Texas passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2014, in Hospice of Wichita Falls.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 27, 2014 at Aulds Funeral Home with Leo Hargis of Archer County, Texas officiating. Interment will follow in the Archer City Cemetery under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at Aulds Funeral Home.

Martha was born July 13, 1941 in Archer City, Texas to Robert Lee Bates and Orene Owen Bates.

She and C.J. Farris were married in Waurika, Oklahoma.

Mrs. Farris had worked in the cafeteria for the Petrolia ISD for thirty years. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, C.J. of Petrolia; two daughters, Vickie Wood and husband, J.D. of Henrietta, Texas and Kelley Farris of Wichita Falls; one son, Scottie Wilson and wife, Roma of Archer City; three sisters, Barbara Cordova of Wichita Falls, Debora Skinner and husband, Dan of Burkburnett, and Brenda O'Neill of Wichita Falls; three brothers, Bob Bates and wife, Sandy of Holliday, Don Bates and wife, Brenda of Wichita Falls and Freddy Bates of Wichita Falls; six grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
