Major Joseph M. "Joe" Dow, retired Air Force, took his last flight on December 17, 2017 from his residence at the age of 83.

Full military honors will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 20, 2017, in Electra Memorial Park with Chaplain Starkovich Forester of Hospice of Wichita Falls officiating.  Arrangements are under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Electra.

Joe was born August 28, 1934 in Winchester, Wyoming to the late Lorenzo and Geska Dow.

In 1952, he graduated high school in Delta, Colorado.  On November 8, 1952, he joined the United States Air Force and proudly served his country during the Korean and Vietnam Wars where he was a pilot and pilot instructor.  He retired on December 1, 1972.

He married Helen McBroom on June 26, 1978 in Clayton, Missouri.  She preceded him in death on October 11, 2015.

After his tour of duty, he opened JMD Clock Shop in Wichita Falls which he owned and operated for over 30 years.  Joe enjoyed working on cars and was a member of the Corvette Club.  He also enjoyed his guns and going to the shooting range.  If something was broken, he could fix it.

Survivors include one son, Larry McCullough of Edmond, Oklahoma; two daughters, Jo Lynne Fox and husband, Tony of Tipton, Oklahoma and Kayla Dix and husband, Johnny of Weatherford, Texas; sister, Martha Robinson and husband, B.C. of Maryville, Tennessee; brother, James Dow and wife, Imogene of Clarksville, Arkansas; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; his fur baby, Sara; and numerous friends.
