Louise Haynes Coats, age 75, of Electra, Texas, passed away Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 12, 2024, at Aulds Funeral Home of Electra, with Jon Curry, Pastor of Grace Community Church in Archer City, officiating.  Interment will follow in the Beaver Creek Cemetery, south of Electra, under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Electra.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Sunday, August 11, 2024, at Aulds Funeral Home of Electra.

Louise was born December 1, 1948, in San Angelo, Texas, to the late John Gaither Haynes and Audrey B. Winters Haynes.

She and Dan Ray Coats were married November 15, 1968, in Alamogordo, New Mexico.  They had been lovingly married for fifty-five years at the time of her passing.

Louise was a longtime member of Hillside Baptist Church in Electra until its closing.  She worked at Paul's Market for many years.

She enjoyed square dancing, crocheting, watching cooking shows on TV, the casino and traveling extensively.  She had ridden many, many miles with her husband, Dan.  Some of Louise's favorite things to do were attending family gatherings and cookouts and watching the kids in her family play sports.  Louise was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan and was affectionately known as "Weezer" by some of those closest to her.

It goes without saying that her pride and joy was her family.  She was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be dearly missed.

Survivors include her husband, Dan of Electra; two sons, Daren Coats and wife, Tina of Duncan, Oklahoma and Brannon Coats of Wichita Falls; one brother, William Haynes and wife, Sandra of Mesa, Arizona; four grandchildren, Dustin Coats of Nocona, Taylor Pettit and husband, Ben of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Aerin Coats of Amarillo and Tyler Coats and wife, Mikayla of Wichita Falls; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

She was also preceded in death by one great-granddaughter, Lucy Belle Coats.

The family suggests memorials to Beaver Creek Cemetery, c/o James Bradley, 13104 St. James Road, Vernon, Texas 76384.
