Lloyd E. "Bub" Deerinwater, Jr. passed away on Saturday, November 22, 2014, in Oklahoma City, at the age of 66.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday December 5, 2014 at the First Baptist Church, Wichita Falls. Arrangements are under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home.
Bub was the son of Lloyd E. "Chief" Deerinwater and Bobbie Ruth Stone Deerinwater. He was born on July 19, 1947, in Muskogee, Oklahoma.
Bub was a natural-born athlete. In high school, behind the blocking of James Vanderslice and an excellent offensive line, Bub was S. H. Rider High School's first All American football player in 1965. Bub was labeled by an area sportswriter as the "Big Train." His number "43" was retired by the school. He earned a football scholarship to T. C. U., where he played one year, before transferring to Oklahoma State University, where he was their leading rusher for three years. Floyd Gass, Bub's coach at O. S. U., said, "Bub was the toughest player I ever coached."
Bub was at one time a deputy for the Tarrant County Sherriff's office. He was the owner and C. E. O. of Deerinwater Environmental Management, a company he built from the ground up. He most recently worked for People's Bank, in Oklahoma City.
He had a very strong faith in Jesus Christ, and was humbled by God's love for him.
Bub's greatest joy and delight on this earth was his daughter, Elizabeth.
The LORD blessed Bub with:
His daughter, Elizabeth Deerinwater and her partner, Matt Hale of Austin, Texas
His mother, Bobbie Deerinwater Bruck, of Archer City, Texas
His sister, Laura Deerinwater Richmond and husband, John of Jennings, Oklahoma
His two brothers, Dan Deerinwater and wife, Christine of Pocassett, Oklahoma; Roger Deerinwater and wife, Carol of Archer City, Texas
