Linda Joyce Anderson Nix, age 62, passed away on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at her residence in Electra, Texas.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, October 10, 2024, at New Hope United Pentecostal Church located at 300 East Bryan Avenue, Electra. Arrangements and private burial will be under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Electra.
Linda was born on March 15, 1962 in Electra, Texas to the late William Elmer "Slim" Anderson and Arlie Vaughn Hunter Anderson. Her birth mother passed away due to complications shortly after her birth, and she was raised by her Uncle Marion Anderson and wife, Geneva, whom she considered as her parents, although her natural father and her sisters were very much involved with her growing up years.
Linda was a devout Christian and served the Lord her entire life. She was a member of New Hope United Pentecostal Church of Electra. She graduated in 1983 from Texas Bible College in Houston and then obtained her Associates Degree from Ivy Tech College in Indianapolis, Indiana. She spent several years in Indianapolis and worked at Riviera Childcare and Day Nursery located in the State Capital Bldg. After, moving back to Texas, she worked in education at Early Childhood in Wichita Falls and Burkburnett, and then as a substitute teacher after moving back to Electra until her health made it impossible to continue working. She also worked at Walmart in Iowa Park for several years and in Indiana.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Arlie Anderson; her second parents, Marion and Geneva Anderson; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Joseph and Alberta Nix; sister, Judy McAlister; brother, Charles Anderson; and brother-in-law, Larry Dutton.
She is survived by her son, William Nix of Wichita Falls; two sisters, Norma Dutton and Betty Cash and husband, Jimmy, all of Iowa Park; brother, William Anderson and wife, Angie of Holliday; sister-in-law, Susan Anderson of Electra; a special niece, Geneen Williamson of Iowa Park; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; special people to her, Scott and Rhonda Fillmore of Electra; and the father of her son, Kenneth Nix of Indianapolis, Indiana.
