Lillian Marie Webster, born May 15, 1930 to Lucille and John Schenk, in Wichita Falls, Texas, passed away Friday morning, March 30, 2018 at the Meridian Nursing Home in Galveston, Texas, just shy of 88 years of age.

A vigil service and rosary will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 4, 2018, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Scotland with Grady Schenk officiating. Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 5, 2018, at St. Boniface Catholic Church with Rev. John Perikomalayil, H.G.N. of St. Joseph's Church in Rhineland, officiating. Interment will follow in St. Boniface Cemetery under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City.

Lillian grew up in Scotland, Texas and was one of nine children.  She met and married her husband, Bill Webster, a young, motorcycling Air Force veteran and they married June 6, 1953.  They had two children, David and Debbie while living in Wichita Falls.  In 1964, Bill moved the family to Houston, Texas and raised their children in the northwest Houston neighborhood, Spring Branch.  Lillian lost her husband in 2009 after 56 years of marriage.

Lillian never lost contact with her family in North Texas, making frequent trips back to her childhood home, ensuring her two children would always be part of a large and wonderful rural family culture that was her extended family clan.   She also became immersed in her community in Houston.  Shortly following the purchase of what would become the Webster family home in 1965, Lillian took up gardening in the plush environment that was the Texas Gulf Coast, and soon became President of the Spring Branch Garden Club.  A post she would remain in for over three decades.

Lillian was professional hair dresser, and ran a shop out of one of the bathrooms and bedrooms.  She would run this business for over 40 years, making lifelong friends of many of her customers.  Lillian also embraced the Houston Astros as baseball was another passion she had.  That led to baseball becoming an integral part of the whole family, which continues to this day.

Lillian also had a passion for her children, becoming deeply involved all their school and extracurricular activities.  She never missed a game, concert or recital and often served as booster club officer, team mom, and other roles. Along with Bill, she became an avid RV enthusiast making frequent trips with the family into the East Texas pine forests, and occasional excursions to mountains of New Mexico and Colorado, ensuring the family remained close to nature and came to enjoy appreciate the outdoors.

Devout Catholics, Lillian and Bill were founding members of St. Catherine of Sienna which was formed out of St Jerome Catholic church in the early 1970's, where she served in many support and parishioner leadership roles for the next 40 years.  After her husband, Bill, passed away in 2009 her health deteriorated to the point she soon could no long live on her own, so the family placed her in the Seaside Senior Care Facility, Meridian, on the Galveston Seawall.  Just as in her life in Houston, her six years at the Meridian up to her passing away on this past Good Friday, saw her become a fixture in the life and culture of that facility as well.

Lillian is survived by her two children, David and Debbie Webster, and two grandchildren, Jason and Shannon Webster.  She also survived by 5 siblings and several dozen nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
