Lenville Lynn Morris, age 70, lifelong resident of Wilbarger County, passed away Saturday evening in a Wichita Falls hospital.
A celebration of his life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 3, 2017, at Eastside Baptist Church with Pastor Curt Rutledge officiating. Cremation arrangements were under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Electra.
Lenville was born September 30, 1947 to the late Leo "Pete" Morris and Bonnie June Quisenberry Morris in Vernon, Texas.
He graduated from high school and attended college for one year. Lenville proudly served his country in the United States Army. After his tour of duty, he returned to Vernon.
He married the love of his life, Sharon Bennett on August 24, 1968 in Vernon. Together they had two children, Shawn and Kasey.
Lenville was a Methodist and was baptized in Farmers Valley.
He was employed as a County Commissioner for Wilbarger County Precinct 4 for twenty-eight years until his retirement in May 2010. He served on the Soil Conservation Board and the Oklaunion Water Board. He also was a weather watcher and was very active in the Vernon College Rodeo Club and the Boys & Girls Club of Vernon.
Lenville enjoyed bronc riding, hunting, fishing but his passion was his family who he loved dearly.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon Morris of Oklaunion; son, Shawn Morris of Electra; daughter, Kasey Creekmore and husband, Jeff of Oklaunion; sister, Darlene Kajs and husband, Tom of Vernon; three grandchildren, Jordan, Harley and D'naylee; several nieces and nephews; and his best friend, Pat Shelton of Vernon.
